A quick, accurate way to check lb over hour output rates from a feeder or extruder is to collect the discharge for 80 seconds, weigh it in gms., and then move the decimal point one place to the left, as follows:
1 lb/hour = x gms./80 sec. (2.2lbs./1000 gms.) (3600sec./hr.) = 0.10 x lb/hr.
