Predictive maintenance

It is difficult to make products and profits when your equipment is being repaired. Following are three philosophies of maintenance:
- Fix it when it breaks,
- Fix it on a regular basis, and
- Fix it just before it breaks.
The last two are referred to as preventative and predictive maintenance. These three methods are in order of historical development, technical sophistication, and effectiveness.
If up time and re liability are important in your operation, the advantage of predictive maintenance should be investigated.
