When preparing a screen pack, place progressively finer screens in the melt flow direction, e.g., 50/100/150/250/25. This type of placement allows staggering of screen blinding and maximizes screen pack life.
The 25 mesh screen next to the breaker plate also helps by spacing the pack away from the break plate, allowing greater screen area utilization.
