Roll Edge Quality
Vol. 19, #2, June 1992

Many roll edge defects, particularly in high speed cast film lines, are caused by simple things like dull razor slitter blades.

High technology ceramic blades are available and last much longer. They cost more, but their long life justifies the cost and they are safer due to less operator handling during change out.
