Heat Exchanger
Vol. 27 #3, December 2000
Care should be taken when conveying heated material in a vacuum conveying system. When hot material is conveyed to the extruder throat, the conveying air temperature will rise. The conveying air temperature should be monitored to be sure that it does not exceed the maximum safe temperature recommended by the manufacturer of the conveying blower. If it does exceed the blowers safe operating temperature, a heat exchanger will need to be installed.
