Deviation alarms
Vol. 27 #1, March 2000
Most extruders are equipped with instrumentation with alarm capability that is often under utilized. A simple alarm setup can provide a powerful process status indicator. For example, setting a 10° deviation alarm on an extruder’s barrel zone temperature con troller can often alert an operator to a feed problem before the output rate is affected enough to go off size.
