Turnaround delays
Vol.20 #3, Dec. 1993
To avoid turnaround delays and/or potential screw damage, check your twin screw assembly for any mismatch of elements before reinserting them in the machine.
This is easily done by setting the two screw shaft assemblies side by side, properly intermeshed on a flat surface and then rolling them.
Also, as a final check, after inserting in the machine, but before operation, rotate the screws by hand. They should turn easily.
