Pelletizing die cleaning
Vol. 24 #2, September 1997
A fast and effective way to remove poly from the die exit holes is to scrape the molten poly from the hole entrance side. Then grab the poly covering a hole with needle nose pliers and pull while cooling the poly with air from an air hose nozzle. This will cause the thinning poly to solidify and pull cleanly from the hole. This takes some practice, but it is a very effective cleaning technique.
